Entertainment evolves and can be adapted to any scale—a single person who chooses a private entertainment from a now enormous array of pre-recorded products; a banquet arranged for two; a party of any size or type; a performance designed for thousands; or even the global audience of television or the internet. In many cases, however, entertainment serves a more serious purpose than amusement.
